Partial derivatives are essential for the mathematical development of the material to be discussed. I shall review in class what would be needed. I strongly recommend you to review this material independently. In the past, I have found that many students have not been exposed to this material in any depth. So if you are one of these, and experience any difficulty, do not be shy and come to see me for any difficulties you may have.
